Any information we collect during the registration for our newsletter that allows any user to be personally identified will not be shared or sold. We do not require any additional information be entered besides your e-mail address. Any information volunteered is held in the strictest confidence.

Any information collected during the registration for a Basic Membership, Gold Membership, Premium Membership SeniorDiscounts Card, or a SeniorDiscounts Guide Book which allows any user to be personally identified will not be shared or sold.
In order to use this web site, a user is not required to register or submit any personal information. However, if a user wishes to participate in certain features of our site, it will be necessary to disclose minimal contact information (such as name and e-mail address for newsletter subscription). This information will be used only for those purposes requested by the user or as stated on the site. For example, we collect information through the “Submit a Discount” form, which we use to find out about discounts and follow up with the business if needed to clarify the discount. Users’ names and E-mail addresses are collected when submitting discounts in order to become eligible for entry in the SeniorDiscounts.com sweepstakes and other promotions. It is not required that the user provide personal demographic information (such as income level), or unique identifiers (such as social security number).
Like most standard Web site servers we use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information.
We do not currently share users’ personally identifiable information. It is unlikely we will ever change this practice, but if we do we will provide you with an opportunity not to use your information in this new manner.

If a user wishes to subscribe to our newsletter, we will ask for minimal contact information such as name and e-mail address. However, for those users who do not wish to continue receiving our publication, we provide opportunities to “unsubscribe” in every newsletter.
Surveys & Contests:
Occasionally, our site requests information from users via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and is limited to those 18 years of age and older. Information requested includes contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code, age level). Contact information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site. If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our site, we ask them for their own name and e-mail address, as well as their friend’s name and e-mail address. SeniorDiscounts.com will automatically send the friend a one-time e-mail inviting them to visit the site. SeniorDiscounts.com only uses the friend’s e-mail address once to send the mail, and never stores that friend’s e-mail address.
SeniorDiscounts.com takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. When users submit sensitive information via the Web site, their information is protected both online and off-line. When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry – SSL. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when users are just ‘surfing’.
While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users’ information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Our employees must use password-protected screen-savers when they leave their desk. When they return, they must re-enter their password to re-gain access to user information. SeniorDiscounts.com employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Finally, the servers that store personally identifiable information are in a secure environment, behind a locked cage in a locked facility.
