Online Promotional and Coupon Codes

If you don’t like fighting the crowds and standing in line at your local retail stores, try finishing your holiday shopping online this year. There is still plenty of time to buy your gifts online and there are lots of places to locate great Internet coupon and promotional codes.

You may have noticed that during the checkout process on many online retail sites, there is a place to enter a promotional or coupon code. These codes are much like the coupons you receive in your local paper or promotional flyers. They may provide free shipping or a discount off the total purchase amount. Entering a correct code will automatically adjust the final total for the discount being offered.

Most online retailers will provide you with these promotional and coupon codes if you sign up to receive their online newsletters and promotions. However, signing up for email notifications at each online retailer can be time consuming and can fill your email with lots of irrelevant mail. A better solution is to visit one of the many web sites that compile these codes and offers for you in one place.

Most of these sites are free, and their search ability makes it much easier for you to find the deals you’re looking for. Many will even provide printable coupons that can be redeemed in a local store, if you want to shop in person.

Many sites will provide multiple codes for one retailer. You can usually only use one promo code though, so check to see which one best serves your needs. For example, a free shipping offer may save you the most if you are purchasing items that are not very expensive.

While coupon sites give you access to an array of savings opportunities, be sure to always check their privacy policy before registering. Most of the sites we researched only require registration if you want to customize the web site settings.

Coupon Cabin allows you to search by category or by retailer and is among the easiest sites to navigate. It lists promotional codes, links to printable coupons and special sales for a large list of national chains. The site is free and does not require any registration.

Coupon Shack focuses primarily on promotional and coupon codes for online retailers and does not have many options for printable coupons. Their list of venders is extensive, with codes available for most large online retailers. They do not require membership and the site is free.

Coupon Mountain has literally thousands of retailers to choose from. You can search for retailers by name or locate promotional codes by category. You can create an account on this web site, which allows you to save coupons, be notified when new coupons become available and receive newsletters. Registration is free.

Current Codes
This site is not as aesthetically pleasing as some of the other web sites, but they do have a large list of retailers to search from, which can be searched by merchant, category or alphabetically.

Flamingo World
Flamingo World has a large selection of retailers that offer promo codes and lets you sign up for email notification when particular retailers offer discounts. The site also has user forums in addition to a large section listing items that have recently been marked down. You can search by retailer or by category.

This web site lets you know what codes have been added that day and allows you to search by category or by merchant. You can also create an account on this site that allows you to customize the web site so that only those retailers that are of interest to you are displayed.

When browsing these sites, you may notice that no code is necessary to receive the specific promotion being offered. These promotions are tracked by the link the web site provides to go to that particular online vendor. These promotions should automatically be provided to you in the checkout area of the vender.
