Grandchildren Discounts at Restaurants
Including Free Meals with Entree Purchase

Spending time with you grandchildren is always fun, especially when you can do it at a discount. We are always on the lookout for restaurants that provide discounts to the over 50 community, but there are also some great deals for the kids that could help you save money.

Many national chains provide free or discounted meals for children with the purchase of a regular entrée. That’s good incentive to take your grandkids to dinner. But as with senior discounts, you should be aware of possible restrictions.

Most national restaurant chains are franchised, so it may be up to the individual restaurant owner to decide whether they offer a discount or not. This means that not all restaurant locations may participate and that the amount of the discount can vary from one location to another. The specific times and days of the week the discount is offered may also vary. Most will offer a discount during off-peak times, usually on a Tuesday or Wednesday, and at a time of the day that would usually be slower, for example, an “early bird special.”

Below are some examples of discounts for kids we could confirm at some locations of various national chains. We have provided age requirements for the children if they were available, but they will vary from location to location. As with all discounts, it is best to call in advance to see if they offer a current promotion and what restrictions may exist.

(Existing senior discounts at these locations will most likely not be able to be used in conjunction with the kid’s discounts, but it’s always worth to ask.)

Applebee’s
Provides one kid’s meal for free when an adult meal is purchased. Some locations may provide additional kid’s meals for $1 each.

Bennigan’s
Children eat free with the purchase of an adult entrée. Available on the first and third Tuesday of each month.

Boston Market
Children 12 and under receive a free kid’s meal with the purchase of one adult entree. Weekdays only.

Captain D’s
Kids eat free on Thursdays at participating locations. Get two free kid’s meals with any adult entrée purchase at regular price. Dine-in only.

Chevys Fresh Mex
Every Tuesday, receive one free kid’s meal with the purchase of one adult entrée. Dine-in only.

Chic-fil-A
On Tuesdays from 5:30pm to 7:30 pm, get a free kids meal with the purchase of a regular combo meal.

Denny’s
Kids 10 and under eat free from the kids menu every Tuesday, and at some locations Saturday too, from 4pm to 10pm with the purchase of an adult entrée. Available at participating locations only.

IHOP
At participating locations, children 12 and under receive one free item from the kid’s menu with the purchase of an adult entrée. Specific times and days vary on location.

Jason’s Deli
On Sundays, kids eat free from the kids menu with the purchase of a regular item.

Marie Callender’s
Tuesdays and Saturdays, receive one free kid’s meal with each adult entrée purchased.

O’Charley’s
At some locations, children 12 old and younger get one free item from the kid’s menu with the purchase of a regular entrée.

Perkins
Children eat form the kids menu for free with the purchase of an adult entrée. Participating locations only.

Red Robin
Children eat free with the purchase of an adult entrée every Tuesday night.

Shoney’s
One child 4 and under eats free with each adult meal purchased. Beverages extra.

Steak-N-Shake
Free kid’s meal with the purchase of an adult meal. For children 12 and under. Participating locations only.

T.G.I. Friday’s
On Mondays and Tuesdays, kids 3 years and younger eat free with an adult purchase.

Tony Roma’s
Some locations allow kids under 13 to eat free on Tuesdays.
