Father's Day Discounts
Date: June 16, 2006
Author: David Smidt, SeniorDiscounts.com

Since Father's Day is approaching, we thought we would bring you some information on discounts available on those things dad likes to do.

In a past article we discussed those senior discounts available at Golf Courses. Here is a quick review of the age requirements and discounts you can expect to find. Age requirements at golf courses will vary from facility to facility and while there are discounts available for dads that are 50 or 55 years of age, many discounts may not begin until 60 or 62. Like the age requirements, the amount of the discount can be different at every course. Discounts can range anywhere from 10% or a couple of dollars from the green fees to more than 50% or more than $50 dollars. Don't forget senior discounts can also be found on golf cart rentals and at driving ranges. Some facilities will offer discounts on lessons or golf camps and pro shops may extend the course senior discount to the cloths and equipment in the shop. In April, we also touched on sporting events' senior discounts. While the major US sports; baseball, basketball, football, golf and hockey, do have some senior discounts, dad will most likely find discounts at other events, like soccer, tennis, rodeo or track among others. Minor league and city teams and college and high school sports are one of the best places to locate senior discounts. These events may provide discounts for every game or for a particular event. Expect to save anywhere from 10% to 20% on the price of admission, but for those events that have a senior day the savings can be substantially more, sometimes 50% to 75%. There are many other recreational sporting activities that will offer a senior discount. Local bowling alleys may give 10% off or more on the lane fees for seniors 50 and older. Batting cages and driving ranges may also offer some form of senior discount. There are also senior discounts at local roller skating and ice skating rinks. So have a great Father's Day and enjoy those discounts.
