Hotel Discounts

Most hotels in the United States, and many more around the world, offer some form of senior discount program. These discounts can be substantial, but it is always a good idea to check online for other special deals and promotions the hotels may be offering. Most hotel companies are now guaranteeing that the lowest rates can be found on their own web sites, but try sites like Priceline.com which allows you to set your own price. Here are some discounts offered by many of the hotel chains:

Marriott Hotels
Marriott Hotels has many different brands under its flagship name, all of which offer the same senior discount program around the world. If you are 62 years of age or older, you can save at least 15 percent on the room rate. This senior discount is available weekdays or weekends, seven days a week but is subject to availability. To receive the discount at Marriott Hotels, Renaissance Hotels, Courtyard by Marriott; Residence Inn, Fairfield Inn, TownePlace Suites, SpringHill Suites and Marriott Vacation Club International, call the reservation number on our web site and ask for the senior discount.

Motel 6
At Motel 6 locations in the US and Canada, guests 50 and older will receive a 10% discount. To receive the discount, call the reservation number located on our web site or the hotel directly and ask for the Seniors Program rate. You can also receive the discount at the front desk by simply providing a valid ID. Motel 6 allows children under 18 to stay for free and there is no additional charge for pets.

Hyatt Hotels
Hyatt Hotels offers a substantial discount for seniors age 62 and over. They offer up to a 50% discount on standard rates at participating hotels and resorts in the United States and Canada. Call their toll free reservation number located on our web site and ask for the senior discount or book online and select the senior citizen rate.

Best Western
Travelers 55 and older or AARP members can receive a minimum 10% discount at all participating Best Western hotels in the US and Canada. Most locations also offer senior guests extras like late check-out, complimentary room upgrades and continental breakfasts. Register online at their web site or call their reservation number located on our web site to receive the senior rate. Minimum age requirements may vary by country outside the US and Canada and the rate may not be available at all hotels and is subject to availability.

Next week we will take a look at the special Choice Hotels discount for SeniorDiscounts Card members and some other hotel chains and the senior discounts available. We have all of these hotels and more listed on our web site. To search for the hotels and their senior discounts, click here.
