Flowers for Mom

If you haven't picked out that special card or ordered flowers yet, we have some discounts that may help. Last week we discussed some discounts offered at card and small gift stores. Factory Card and Party outlets, many Hallmark stores, Longs Drugs stores and Rite Aid Drug stores all offer senior discounts on their products and services. For more information about these discounts, you can read last week's newsletter posted on our web site: click here.

Flowers are always appreciated. We have listed three online flower shops this week in our Senior Discounts Section that offer discounts and most of them can deliver the next day. Check out that section below for more details. All of the online flower retailers can be found on our web site as well when searching under the Online Retailers category.

If you would rather purchase flowers from a local florist, you will find that many offer a senior discount. While we have some of these stores listed on our web site, you can also look in your local yellow pages. Florists will sometimes advertise a senior discount in their ads, but it is usually in small print.

Discounts on flowers at local stores will typically start at 10% and some stores may only offer the discount on certain days of the week. Age requirements for these discounts usually begin around 55 years of age but many small stores may not have a specific age policy and will provide the discount as long as you ask for it.

Another great place to look for discounts is at your local nursery or garden center. The large garden and home center chains typically do not offer a senior discount but the local garden or home centers usually do, making their prices comparable to the larger chains.

Senior discounts at these stores are typically 10% to 15%. Garden center discounts are usually available to people 55 years of age and older. It is also common for these discounts to only be available on certain days of the week, usually a Tuesday or Wednesday.

You can search our database for discounts related to gardening and home centers in our retail and local services categories, click here. If you do not see a discount close to you, try calling some of the local stores in your area for their senior discount information. If you find a discount, let us and other seniors know about it, click here.

Happy Mother's Day.

This week we bring you some of the discounts available in our SeniorDiscounts Card program. The following discounts and over 130,000 more can be found at Included in each listing is the phone number, address, map of the location and more. Remember - we add more discounts every week.

Do you know of a senior discount that we don't? Tell us and you could win: $100.
