Discounts Abroad If you are planning to travel abroad, you may want to consider looking into age related discounts that may be available to you in other countries. As many of you probably already know, many national companies in the US provide discounts to older adults, but did you know that similar discounts may be available at their international locations? Hotels, car rentals and airlines are just some of the types of discounts that may be available to you while traveling outside the US. There are also some services similar to SeniorDiscounts.com available in other countries. If you're thinking about traveling to New Zealand, Australia or the South Pacific you should take a look at the New Zealand Seniors Card. The New Zealand Seniors Card has more than 2,500 businesses offering discounts and benefits to people 55 years of age and older. The Card provides discounts on many products and services, from travel and hotel accommodations to food and tourist attractions. The site provides contact information for each business as well as a discount description and any restrictions. The discounts range from about 10% to 50% off regular prices and discounts can be found in New Zealand, certain areas of the South Pacific and Australia. The cost for a 2-year membership is $24 Australian or about $15 US. Members receive a Seniors Card and Guide Book. Visit the web site for more information. Click here: http://www.seniorscard.co.nz Senior Concessions is a web site which lists discounts available to people over 55 years of age. They state that their site "helps senior citizens find and benefit from the many discounts and other concessions available to them, and encourages businesses to introduce new concessions to this important market." Currently they have over 4,000 different businesses listed throughout England, Scotland, Whales and Northern Ireland which offer a senior discount. To search for discounts on the web site, one must first choose a category and then will have the option of refining the search by location, age requirement for the discounts and/or a key word search. Each business listings provides the contact information, location, discount and business description and any restrictions to obtaining the discount. The online service is free and there is no printed version of the discount information. Visit the web site for more information. Click here: http://www.seniorconcessions.co.uk/ Canada also has an
organization that provides discounts for the older population, CARP. CARP
is a non profit advocacy group for Canadians over 50 which "promotes
the rights and quality of life of mature Canadians." A one year membership
to the organization is $19.95 Canadian, and provides a subscription to
the 50plus magazine as well as access to its benefits and discounts. For
